The story of this series is based on a murder case featuring thrilling moments. The show features Gianni Versace’s murder, where Antonio D’Amico is played by Ricky Martin who turns out to be Versace’s lover. Darren Criss plays the role of a murderer featured as Andrew Cunanan in the show.

Queer Eye

A show by Netflix classified as Netflix original and it premiered on February 7th, 2018. The show features the Fab Five where they discuss the rights of LGBTQ and they go on with the social commentary keeping in focus the farm-to-table guacamole.

Here and Now

Produced by the creators of True Blood and Six feet Under, Here and Now is another TV series premiered on February 11, 2018 on HBO. The show features a family, mother father and four children, three of which are adopted from around the world. The show is a lot of queer in the characters for LGBT community and it spices up the show with gay scenes. The show premiered on February 11th, 2018 on HBO.

Tony Cox

Cable positive’s Tony Cox community fund grants $68,800 for local community fight against HIV/AIDS.

The $68,000 donated in 2004 went to 14 AIDS service and community-based organizations joining forces with their local cable systems to fight HIV/ AIDS.

Tony Cox, born on March 31st 1958 is an American actor known for Bad Santa, Me, Myself and Irene, and appeared in Beetlejuice and George Lucas film Willow.

Univision garnered the POP Network of the Year Award and Dan Moloney, Executive Vice President, Motorola, took home the second ever TelevisionWeek HIV/AIDS Education Advocate of the Year Award at Cable Positive’s 7th Annual POP Awards (Positively Outstanding Programming) last night at the Time Warner Center in New York City. Univision is the first non-English speaking network to take home POP Network of the Year in the award’s history. Time Warner Cable joined Rainbow Media as presenting sponsor of Cable Positive’s POP Awards, held annually to both encourage and reward outstanding programming in the area of HIV/AIDS.

The event was hosted by Frederick Weller, who stared on Broadway in “Take me Out” and “Glengarry Glen Ross” and is appearing in USA Network’s new series “In Plain Sight.” Award Presenters included Marvelyn Brown, Author and Emmy Award-winning HIV/AIDS activist; Jack Mackenroth, Designer, appeared on Bravo’s “Project Runway;” Alesha Renee, Host of BET’s “The 5ive;” Matt Singer, Host of IFC’s News On-Air; and Kim Stolz, MTV News Correspondent and mtvU VJ.

Dan Moloney, Executive Vice President, Motorola, Inc. received the second ever HIV/AIDS Education Advocate of the Year Award, presented by TelevisionWeek. Under Dan’s leadership, Motorola made the single largest grant in Cable Positive’s history for the creation of The Youth AIDS Media Institute (YAMI) through the Motorola Foundation. The grant provided Cable Positive with $200,000 to launch the program, targeting youth across the U.S. and challenging them to create HIV/AIDS awareness messages in their own voices to educate their peers about the disease.

Cable Positive, MTV & BET Networks to Hold Employee Volunteer Day at Local New York City AIDS Service Organization Iris House

NEW YORK, NY – The New York Chapter of Cable Positive, the cable and telecommunications AIDS action organization, will join forces with MTV and BET Networks on Saturday, October 4, 2008 for a special volunteer day at a local Manhattan AIDS service organization Iris House, where cable industry employees will paint – with brushes donated by SCRIPPS Network – an active space that clients currently use to eat lunch, conduct support groups, and hold exercise classes.

This latest act of corporate social responsibility from the cable industry will make another tangible impact in the lives of those affected and infected by HIV/AIDS in a local community. The volunteer day builds upon the efforts coming from the industry in New Orleans at the 2008 Cable Show, there, over 100 cable activists helped two local AIDS service organizations refurbish multiple homes housing individuals affected by HIV/AIDS.

“This is a great partnership, we love that we’re able to get out and do good for local New York City organizations. Working with both Cable Positive and Time Warner Cable has been great,” said Armando Polanco, Account Director, Content Distribution & Marketing, MTV & BET Networks.

Cable Positive’s First Full Length Documentary, Positive Voices: Women & HIV, Wins 2008 FREDDIE Award

NEW YORK, NY – Cable Positive’s first feature length documentary, Positive Voices: Women & HIV, has been judged to be the winner of the 2008 FREDDIE Award in the category of Community Health.

MediMedia’s FREDDIE Awards are recognized as the top health and medical media competition. The competition’s goal is to encourage and celebrate excellence, every year The FREDDIE Awards attract documentaries, series, short films, videos, Web Sites, DVDs and CD-ROMs from around the world.

Produced in partnership with Kismet Films, and originally aired on Showtime Networks Inc. the film focuses on the HIV/AIDS epidemic in the United States and how it has impacted women directly, the media’s portrayal of people living with HIV/AIDS and the new challenges facing women today as the rate of HIV infections rise in their communities. The program is hosted by Gloria Reuben, the former ER star who portrayed a health care professional infected with HIV, who is now starring in the TNT legal drama Raising the Bar. The piece features six women infected and affected by the HIV/AIDS epidemic and focuses on the various ways it has affected their lives. Among the women featured is Regan Hofmann, Editor-in-Chief, Poz Magazine.

Positive Voices: Women & HIV has already been recognized by the New York AIDS Film Festival as best short documentary, and the Service Industry’s Advertising Awards (SIAA) with a gold in the Special Video category.
